Car windows and insurance claims

Hi, I am just posting to find out what effect the following would have:
If you have a fully comprehensive policy with 3 years NCD on your car and you return to it to find your window has been broken but nothing has been taken.
Would you expect your insurance to go up as a result of making a claim? I am aware you would need to pay the windscreen excess.
But would be interested to know if in particular, the no claims discount would be affected. Once NCD gets to 4, it can be protected, but not before!

For most insurers..... no impact to NCD or premium
To a few insurers.... no impact to NCD but a small premium increase
To at least one insurer.... you wont earn any NCD for the year and may have a small premium increase0 -
What is your glass excess? You could probably get it replaced for the cost of the excess anyway.
They may think you park in dodgy areas and now a higher risk. Its still a claim that needs declaring, Mostly for 5 years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

As different insurers look at windscreens differently as far as impacting NCD is concerned, you need to read what your policy has to say about it. (Though Swiftcover don't give any NCD after a glass replacement claim).
You can see what difference having this claim on your record will make to your premium by doing dummy quotes online with and without the claim in your history.0
