Anyone know if there’s a site somewhere that tell you (simply !!) the difference between intel mobile cpu’s ?
I’m looking at a few laptops and, having not being following the dual core stuff, I’ve no idea what, if any, major difference there is between them all for the price…
Ie core duo T2050, dual core T2060 (I think that’s a Celeron version ?), core 2 duo T5500

They are all dual Core.
The T2050 and T2060 are the first versions thus Core Duo and the T5500 is the newer version thus Core2Duo.
In general a similiar spec Core2duo has approx 5-10% better performance than a Core Duo. e.g 1.6ghz Core2duo will have 5-10% better perfromance thana 1.6ghz Coreduo.
Its varies on what application your running. but thats the general Performance differnce. otherwise not much in it.0 -
Thanks for that.
I would imagine also, that as there’s not a lot of software out there for dual core anyway, it’s not going to make a lot of difference running ‘single core s/w’ anyway ?0 -
This is a good comparison of Core duo Vs Core2duo of same speed.

I've used the T55, very nice cpu
have a look at Toms Hardware for info, and of course the best tech site on the web Driverheaven."If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0
