    This is disgraceful!

Oh dear Mary, if this is disgraceful, I'd advise you not to read too many threads on this board, or you may quickly run out of adjectives. :)

We recently sold our house to someone who was buying to rent the property.

I've now seen the property advertised for rent. However, this is being advertised with photos of the house full of my property - my photos are visible on the wall etc.

Can I ask the letting agent to remove these photos? the house is being rented unfurnished and I believe it has been redecorated since the photos were taking.

If it adds complexity, the letting agent is the rental department of the estate agent that sold the property.

It's more that I don't want our personal photos and property displayed against a property that is no longer anything to do with us (obviously when I was in it to sell the house I didn't care).

    Appreciate any help....

Just ring the agent and ask - hardly a big deal

"full sized" as in life-size?!!?

Not quite :rotfl: Poster sized, A2 I think. We went in afterwards and asked if we could have it - still got it rolled up somewhere as never bought a big enough frame to put it in!

Mind you, it was better than the work Christmas do we had at a local country club which is also a popular wedding venue. Their hall and stairway was full of previous wedding photos, and one showed a workmate who was at the party's wedding ... thing was, the marriage only lasted months, and the photo showed him and his ex, and he was there with his new partner!

You can ask but unless you took the photos in the first place you have no legal basis to insist. The agents are sloppy re-using photos but they're not breaking any laws.

we are startig to get this a lot, maybe the sign of austerity in the EA game, cutting back on tog bookings?

Anyways, nothing you can do, no need to get upset, move along and don't get yourself bitter about it.

Yes, just imagine all those dirty potential tenants pawing over images that were previously only the province of lovely home buyers and respectable BTL landlords. It doesn't bear thinking about.

I think the OP is just regretting that, if he had known the agent would do this, he'd have left a picture of himself "mooning".:rotfl:
Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.

  • the photos were advertised to all and sundry already when you were selling the property, so whats the problem now?????
