    If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...

    And it is factually rubbish - most of the mis-sold PPI, for example, was only a technical mis-selling - the banks' customers were (mostly) complicit - they knew they were being given access to loans that, although more expensive, they otherwise would not have been given.

    SSE's (and other suppliers') sales staff deliberately lie and charge customers more for the energy than the customers think. Loans customers know their loans are more expensive and the insurance is not going to pay out.

    (Yes, some loans were sold to unknowing dupes. Not many, though.)
