Double Glazing - not FENSA installed

I recently had double glazing installed in a property which have not been FENSA certified. I've no intention of selling in near future ( its a property that we've had for over 40 years and will rent out again after modernisation is finished).
  • Are there any issues if the double galzing issue has not been certified ?
  • Can Building Regulations insist they be removed ?
  • Can Building Regulations department check and if so what do they need to do to check (e.g. remove plaster to check frames etc)
  • I'm currently having an extension built which building regs will check, could they check the windows also (at a cost I assume !)
Thanks in advance

The building control department can inspect them. Their approval has the same standing as a FENSA registered installation. If they find problems can you get the original installer back to fix ( or was it you? ).
