Post your actual annual kWh consumption on each E7 register and meaningful advice can be given. Your DD level tells us nothing about your actual usage. We also know nothing about your lifestyle or heating/hot water usage.
But £1,200pa on E7 is not unusual.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Been roughly £150/month through this winter. That's on a 2 bed flat too.

Treeze, I can only assume you have gas, or no heating at all. Even with extreme economising we couldn't get our peak usage down to £35/month, forget about the combined usage!

That does sound quite high. We have a 4 bedroom house and pay just under £90 a month. Are you in the house a lot, have the heating on all the time etc - as this may explain why you’re paying so much.

The price does vary depending on supplier, so it may be worth shopping around and comparing usage figures on a site like uSwitch.

Also, how do you pay your bill? If you're on pre payment meter you automatically pay more. You also face a premium for being on the standard tariff so if you're on that it may be worth switching to a fixed contract.

Could you be paying of a debt? That would also push up the price.

Sorry, without more details I'm just guessing why you're paying so much! Some more info would be helpful :)

We've got a two bedroom house in one of the windiest places in the UK (so it seems!) with economy 7 and we try to do as much as possible overnight (washing, tumble drying etc). Last year (Mar 12-Mar 13) we used:

    Day - 2293 kWH
    Night - 11952 kWh
    Total - 14245 kWh

Including the standing charge the bill for the year was £1196 (all as one go as nPower had made a mess) but this was billed as if we'd been paying by direct debit, as we'd asked when we moved to them a year prior to the bill. So £100 per month for a flat seems a bit excessive, especially if you're out in the day - my better half usually isn't so there's the cooker, TV, etc on in the day.

The house is 100+ year old stone built with 1m thick walls, double glazing and I installed new storage heaters last year with the automatic charge control as the old ones didn't get very warm.

    For your info, we've got 3x 3.4kW and 2x 2.55kW heaters and (I think) a 2kW immersion heater.

No,it's all electric. I'm just extremely mean! :rotfl:oil filled radiators on for about 4 hoursa day in Winter-off now- and hot water on for a maximum of 3 hrs a week as that's plenty for just me.Washing machine less than an hour a week and no tumble drier.
