Charity Giving for 'free' - O2 extra top-up allowance
Options
I have managed to donate the remainder of my free top-up allowance from O2 to charity so though I would share my experience with others.
I'm on O2 PAYG and really don't use it very much so every so often O2 send me an offer of an extra top-up allowance. A couple of weeks ago they offered me an extra £15 for topping up which I decided to do. The extra free credit expires at midnight tonight and I still had £13 left. An advert for Christian Aid came on TV asking for text donations so I thought I would give it a go and sure enough the £5 donation came off my free allowance. A quick search online gave me a choice of several other charities accepting donations by text so I sent the remaining £8 to Mary's Meals.

If money saving starts to involve irritation or frustration the fine line between thrift and greed should be examined.

That's an excellent tip  and it's made me realise that I can donate whatever I don't use on my monthly contract to charities :T
