Sender address rejected

Hello, I have an iPad and today whenever I try to send an email I get this message popping up saying The sender address was rejected by the server and placed in outbox. Does anyone know why this has suddenly started and how can I rectify it. Thank you.

Check your SMTP settings - Your ISP (Internet/Broadband Service Provider) could of upgraded their servers whereby you now need to authenticate the outgoing (smtp) mail with a valid username and password. Hence why it is not recognising the sender (you).
Go to to the primary account and edit its smtp (Outgoing Mail Server) settings if need be - Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> primary account.0
