Anyone else use candles everyday?

I use tea lights on my hearth in the evening.
They reflect on the marble backing and give a fair bit of heat, just enough for a summer night or when the heating had gone off.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Oo I haven't had a candlelit bath for years! They are lovely.
I also find candles take the chill out of a room rather than putting the heating on. I don't have any scented candles, but I use a candle powered oil burner instead0 -

I had the same problem with big church candles, with them either burning wonky or just down the middle, leaving large amounts of unused candle. I've started cutting them back if that happens, and also purchased a pack of wicks. I grate up any leftover wax and make small candles from that, so nothing gets wasted.
I do the same with left over candle wax (or use it like a wax tart if it's scented) but here's one idea. If you find pillar candles burn unevenly, check for draughts and/or put them in a lantern or suitable vase. That seems to work in our house except for the very cheap candles which tend to just do their own thing sadly.
To the person who asked if you can reuse Yankee jars, yes you can. Use them for the reformed candle idea with bits of old jars or clean them out and use for storing anything from cotton wool balls to hair ties to jewellery to..well the list is endless. I don't personally use them for food but I know lots of people who do.0 -
I love candles, but my OH hates them. If I've candles on the table and I go into the kitchen [STRIKE]to get more wine[/STRIKE] for anything, I'll come back and he's blown the candles out!
In my old house I used to have candles and incense burning on the mantelshelf with a big mirror behind them, really looked (and smelled) lovely!0 -
I wish I could but the last few years I've found they give me bad headaches.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I'm not a massive fan of candle light. I like reading at night, and my eyesight isn't the best, so I find lamps are easier. I love the smell of scented candles though, particularly those that smell like food. I'm currently coveting Jelly Belly's toasted marshmallow candle.0

I've started using the skinny candles you use on birthday cakes as tapers for lighting my bigger candles, can't believe I never thought of it sooner!0
