Did you send the Ribena company a letter like the boy in the story does?

I have found a couple of coupon websites here but not as many as they seem to have in the US where they can print so many off they have folders alphabetised of them!

Shopping is different in the US to here. In the US the supermarkets don't do the BOGOF and 3 for 2 deals that ours do.

Over there you don't automatically get the discount you have to work for it, find the coupons, print them off or cut them out and then present them.

That way only those people who can be bothered get the discount and couponing is seen as a socially inferior thing to do by many people, a sign that you are the worst type of American, a poor person!

Watched this earlier and wondered where the hell they get all those vouchers

I did work in America for a short while and I remember local papers and cheap magazines being absolutely full of coupons whereas here you probably won't get more than a page and the cost of magazine may wipe out the savings. I think tills there also spew out more coupons than ours do.

I do think there are more savings to be had over there, especially as shops seem more open to mutilple coupons being used on one product. I remember watching a YouTube video where a woman paid about $8 for around 15 items from one store (including brand-name make-up and toiletries). I remember thinking just one of those make-up products would cost more than $8 over here!

When I was over there I was told that you would be looked at oddly if you didn't have coupons and were paying full-price for everything!

It depends where you go and who you talk to. It's certainly different to over here.
