£1 premium bond what do I do with it?

I've been having a clear out of junk and have found a single £1 premium bond issued in 1969. I spoke to my mum and she says she brought them (1 each for me, my brother and sister) but that's all she can remember and doesn't know about any paperwork or where the other bonds are. So in short what can I do with my premium bond, I could be worth a million and don't know it!
Nothing to see here, move along.

    OP

That's not very MSE is it :p

I hope you will now include your £1 PB on your spreadsheet, which you update at least daily

Good luck with it and I do hope you've won something. My £18 have been a serious disappointment :rotfl:

I have a £1 PB my gran gave me when they came out. I have often wondered if I wanted to get the max £30k would I have to redeem it as I would like to keep it for sentimental reasons.

    Not very MSE I know!

You could invest £29900. But if you tried to cash them in, they'd redeem the oldest first and leave you with a new one.

Like pqrdef said if you got the max £30K they would redeem the oldest first if you wanted to cash them in....

But there is nothing stopping you from keeping the original £1 PB certificate/slip that your Gran gave you for sentimental reasons.

Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk

Why do you have to ring them? Just go to the link opinions4u provided, click on "Have I Won?" and type in your premium bond number.
