Wrongly at fault

Options
A few months ago I was involved in a minor collision on a roundabout. The other driver was at fault but lied on his account of the incident. My insurance company recommended a 50/50 split which I reluctantly agreed to.
Now all of a sudden I've had a letter from my ins company saying they are holding me fully responsible as the other party has a witness to the incident.
Is there anything I can do as I know the witness is false?
Thank you.
