Is it possible to save apps to Android USB storage?

Hello.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note. It has 9GB USB storage free and I know that Android reserves 2GB for Apps.

However, is it possible to have the apps save to USB storage? I use quite a few apps on my phone and keep getting a message that storage space is running out. It's so annoying when I have 9GB USB storage on the phone but I can't use it for anything other than photos, music and documents!

I do have a 4GB microSD card but I would like to be able to have most of my apps on the USB storage.

Is there any way to do this? I have Googled but I've read conflicting information so thought I would ask here. :D

Thank you.

No if you are on Android Jelly Bean .

Have a look at app2sd it may work .

Do you have a lot of data on the internal sd like maps music video etc . They can be moved to external card.

    Quote Samsung .

Now, with Android using a unified storage system, all applications will be stored completely on the internal memory of the phone. This allows for around 11GB of storage space on a 16GB device for apps. Google, the developer of Android, feels this is more than enough for users, as their operating system was designed for use on their own phones as well, which do not have any external storage at all.

Please also note that we do not advertise any of our devices as having the capability of running or installing apps directly onto the external memory card. You will have to install your apps to the internal memory, but anything else (music, videos, documents etc.) can be stored on your external memory card.

I've tried App2SD without a memory card in and it just says that there isn't enough storage available when I try to move apps.
I don't have any music or videos on the phone. I have Google Maps installed so not sure if that uses alot of space?

I'll just check to see which Android version I'm using as I'm not sure. It says 4.1.2 and my Googling tells me that it's Jelly Bean. I just can't find any way for my phone to utilise the USB storage for apps, which is such a shame. :(

You have to have the sd card IN THE PHONE for apps2sd to work, that's where it's trying to move the data to...if it's not in the phone, no wonder it's saying no room - the sd card slot has a memory capacity of zero when there's no sd card in it ;)

put the sd card in and try again......
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

The USB storage is also sometimes called the /SD part on the Note. :p I have tried it with an external SD card and it worked fine.
However, I want my apps on the USB storage (as I said, sometimes called the /SD part of the phone) so took my external SD card out to see if the apps would move to the USB part of the phone.
