Council Tax Benefit and starting work

My son has recently started a part-time job at Matalan after having been unemployed for some time. He is signed off from the Jobcentre from the 6th May.
He shares our house in the UK with two other young men and was entitled to £296 a year Council Tax Benefit.
Will he have to inform them of his new job, or will it be recalculated automatically? So far (he has only been there two weeks) he has done 29 hours and 24 hours. He has not been paid yet.
Thanks for any advice.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

As it is a change of circumstances he will need to tell the Council about starting work.0

you'll have to infom them and they will want to see at least 5 payslips or a contract stating his hours and pay, obvioulsy you wont be able to give them 5 payslips so he'll have to take them in as and when.
DWP will probably inforom the council he's no longer in receipt of JSA, well they did with me and IS.
And his claim will probably be suspended until they have all their info.
EDIT- it's 5 payslips for weekly pay and 2 for monthly.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0
