Bear in mind that if you use more than one browser (eg. Chrome and Internet Explorer) they can both have their own separate Flash Player installations, which can be on different versions.
So I suggest you check this link on every browser on your PC.
Edit: just seen your latest post. I think the version confusion may be because you have more than one browser and therefore more than one version of Flash installed.
Many thanks, clicked on your link and that is showing the latest version. I used to always use IE as my web browser but changed months ago to Google Chrome.
However, can't understand why it is only in the last couple of days that I am getting this vulnerability message - very strange.
As long as it is not harmful then I will ignore it.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
As you visited the website using chrome, the website reported the version of flash player integrated with chrome. You'll also have the standalone version of flash installed for other browsers (as pointed out by Jivesinger). It'll be that that Kaspersky is detecting.
Visit it using IE and the result will be different.
I would go to Adobe using IE and update to the latest version.

I tried this, although haven't used IE for ages, but it didn't show any version of Adobe flash player, so I wasn't sure how to update:o
Do you think it will make any difference? Is it a totally insignificant thing that I should just ignore?
Also, it is strange that Kaspersky only picked this problem up yesterday isn't it?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
The link was broken - try it again (Using IE)

It just takes me to a page where I would have to download Javascript, which I don't really understand.
It doesn't say that there is any Adobe installed!
I don't like using IE at all now must admit:(Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Javascript would be enabled rather than downloaded (You would though, download Java, which is is different to Javascript).
It would probably work if you reset IE.

If I deleted the Adobe flash player from the control panel, would that also take out Adobe reader, which I don't really want to lose?
I don't think I have ever downloaded Java, in fact I probably don't use flash player, so this is why I am mystified by it all.
Just a thought.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
No. Adobe Flash player & Adobe Reader are different. Adobe reader is for viewing .pdf (portable document format) files.0

Thanks for all of the information.
I was discussing this at work today and someone said to just ignore it, as it is probably caused by IE, which I don't even use and that I shouldn't remove the Adobe Flashplayer that is in control panel as it could cause problems:eek:
I am pretty certain that I have never used Adobe Flashplayer because I have never enabled Java or Javascript and so can't understand why I am getting this message showing up from Kaspersky.
According to Google Chrome I am definitely on the right version of Adobe.
Forgot to say I did link to Adobe through IE and when I clicked on the Java thing it says there is an installation problem and gives a whole load of instructions on how to install Java before it can download latest flashplayer.
So I think I will just let sleeping dogs lie.
Many thanks again.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0
