I am a new to 1899. Are there any hidden charges except to mentioned in http://www.call1899.co.uk/rates.php.

Would I be charged by 1899, for any calls dialed without the prefix 0808 1 708 708 (from my NTL line).

Does 1899 have any customer service phone number?.

you will only be charged by 1899 for calls put through using the prefix and other calls be be charged to NTL.

There are no monthly charges if that is what you mean by hidden charges and there is no landline number to contact 1899. Sometimes this may be frustrating for users but this is how they keep the costs down by not funding a costly call centre.

1899 will not know what you're dialling UNLESS you dial their access number (08081708708) so cannot charge you. NTL won't miss out though!

1899 has no Customer Services call centre. That's why they're so cheap.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

    Hi,
I use 18866 service all the times and I think it is great. I only get charged a couple of pence no matter how long I am on the phone. I believe it is cheaper then 1899

I have been using the service for a few months now and hadn't had any problems until yesterday. On occassion when I phoned people I got the engaged tone but I just rang again later and all was fine.

I use 1899 to ring mobiles at the weeksnd and to ring my mate in the USA as it is 0 p per minute..bargain. :T

    Happy dialing and saving :j

ahll, 18866 is obviously cheaper for you as a BT customer but the OP is an NTL customer and so 1899 is cheaper.

problems with both often seem to be area based and obviously depend on the number of users at peak times :D
