abandoned by the ombudsman?

For 2 years we have been getting billed by npower for gas they were not supplying because they did an erroneous transfer and have actually been billing us for next doors meter while our previous supplier has actually been supplying and billing us too.
Wont say much more but it took months and we involved the ombudsman who specified a time limit for npower to pay us back all the money + compensation. In that time we also had to find a new supplier.
That time limit was about 2 months ago now, all we have had is a letter from npower which basically said sorry and we will give your money back at some point.
Additionally they have not updated the national database of meter details so even though we have tried to switch suppliers, we can't.
I've responded to the letter and emailed the ombudsman several times but not had any responses from either party.
What can I do now?

If the ombudsman has written to you with a resolution, then you will have the contact details of whoever in the ombudsman service is dealing with your complaint.
I suggest you give that person a call (Monday) if you think the supplier is not complying with the resolution you have previously agreed with the ombudsman.0 -
The ombudsknut is a waste of time, space and resources as so many threads on this forum would indicate.
Useless to the point of needing to be put down..I'll volunteer to do this personally if I am exempted from any prosecutions0 -
An et wont invlove updating xoserve or ecoes, also you would be sent back and billed by your old supplier.
Are you sure its not crossed meteringDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

Had the same problem with the energy ombudsman. Npower took 7 weeks to cough up (legally they are required to in 4) and Ofgem weren't interested either.
Use the complaints process about the ombudsman at http://www.ombudsman-services.org/unhappy-with-our-service-form-os.html
I would go through your past experience and see if there are any other problems you've had with the OS:energy.
Bring each problem as an individual complaint to the ombudsman, sequentially.
See the http://www.ombudsman-services.org/downloads/IA%20TOR%20July%202012%20PDF.pdf for an email address to start the process if you don't want to use the form.
Its a fact of life that hardly anyone has a smooth experience with a dispute resolution service.
If you want to move suppliers, you'll have to technically move out - i.e. get someone to move in by fronting the energy bill for you during the 40 days it takes to switch suppliers.0 -
