yawcam problems

i have a modern toshiba windows 7 laptop and on the advice of computeractive downloaded yawcam which should via your webcam detect any movement near the laptop shoulld email you with a picture of a potential robber. i have managed to set it up , following the instructions , its detecting im on line but will not send the picture to my gmail email account , port forwarding i believe......."could not connect to ftp-server....ftp error... connection refused .... very confusing

One wonders if it is to be actually used for the above purpose. Not trying to catch someone out maybe.

Sorry but i always laugh at these bits of software, that requires the laptop to be open and switched on and then to act as deterrent to stop potential thieves. Yes you could usb webcam, but still pretty laughable

You cannot use FTP to send the picture to your email account, you must use, if the software has it, the email server in it. FTP is normally used for uploading files to websites.

Port forwarding only exists because the internet is full - well IPv4 space is anyway. One day when we all use v6, we may never have that nonsense again!

my router is blocking all port forwarding , to unblock i have to put my ip gateway number in and open 8801 ports.... to much messing about im leaving it
