How to change 1p's and 2p's

Will banks or Post Offices change piles/bags of 1pence and 2pence coins, or allow you to pay money into your account in that way?

Yes - you need bank bags (from the bank in the first place) and then sort into the correct amounts (£1.00 in 1ps)

YOu cannot obviously mix the coins in the same bag (e.g 1ps and 2ps in same bag is NOT acceptable)

You could of course buy a coin sorter to do the hard work for you (I've got one as I used to hate counting lots of small copper coins.) Google "coin sorter" if you are interested in that...

    Hope it helps

Just out of interest and this is a genuine question - what have you been doing with all your 1ps and 2ps all these years?

They have machines in Tesco and Sainsburys here that count the money and give you the equivalent in vouchers that you can spend in store... not sure about the Tesco one as I only used the Sainsbury one...
There is a small charge per £ but I can't remember what it was
