Sounds like he's been scammed by an advanced fee scammer to me.
A quick look at the website says it was registered in January to an individual in Cardiff, but the site claims to be run by a company called "Elite Loans & Mortgages Ltd", who do actually exist.
A very quick Google of the DPA reg no on the site comes back with a load of hits for various sites all claiming to be part of Elite L & M.
How did your son pay the fees?0 -

Just researched it i think it's a broker/scam, why was he silly enough to give his details out!
As for getting it back, i don't know what to advise is there a cancellation cooling off period etc? Im sure someone will be of more help in a moment0 -
The huge amount of spam that comes up when you Google "mrunsecuredloans" would make me run a mile straight away.
I would go more with the advance fee fraud than it being a "legitimate" broker charging a fee (usually a lot lower) and offering a cancellation period.
How did he pay the cash and how did he find/contact them?0 -
im afraid he gave out his card details to the persuasive guy on the end of the phone

Im afraid your son has been scammed. Tell him not to send another penny no matter what they say and promise.
Show him this thread and others and hopefully he will learn an important lesson and not be a victim in the future of similar frauds.0 -
I've just filled in a dummy application on their website and it takes you to another site for a company called "LoanPal" who also claim to be part of Elite Loans & Mortgages. They charge a "one-off fee of £47.50", so I'm not sure where the 300 quid has come from.0

How much was he looking for if he already had £300 loafing around in his account?
The standard scams are usually less than £100, these can be retrieved with a bit of a struggle but scams over £100 normally involve Western Union/uKash transfers and not retrievable.
According to that silly website, if you borrow £100 for 3 Months, it only costs 98p interest.0 -
ive just spoken with this company and they are now saying that they needed another £196 pound so they can release the funds to his account, and then they said they couldnt pay him his loan because they can only pay out in multiples of 500 and his loan was for 4000 plus a refund of his first payment 192 equaled 4192 so he couldnt have it..........ive demanded a full refund and am now waiting for a reply from their alleged manegment team >..........0
