Doctor Who at the Proms

After spending a very frustrating 2.5 hours this morning trying to get some tickets for this event I was really cross when it came up sold out. As I was on the phone line waiting to get through as well as on the computer I persevered and spoke to a lady who managed to find me 3 together in the 'Gods' with a limited view. As DS is desperate to go I have bought these, they have said to keep trying for returns and we can exchange the tickets if this happens but am now really worried that the view is going to be awful and we will not be able to see anything. Has anyone else been to this event previously and either been in those veryhigh seats or taken the standing option. We are thinking if we have to keep these seats get there really early and try for a standing place as well and at least that way if we are not happy sitting we will have another option. Thanks in advance for any advice.

trust me, to get any tickets today was a miracle!! I too am up in the circle, but I have been to the proms (horrible histories) and the view is great from anywhere! Just be glad to go and if you have never been you will be awe inspired, it is an amazing atmosphere and you will love it!

hope you have a great time and remember its an even that sold out in hours!

I too spent a couple of hours on the phone and online but was after season tickets. Thankfully these were available. If you plan to queue on the day turn up very early. The RAH in the past come round and issue numbered place holder tickets so you can leave for a bite or loo break. No guarantee they will do this. You can always call and ask.

Personally I wouldn't prom in the arena or gallery with young children simply because they will have to stand for the whole performance. There are also some very serious promers that attended nearly every performance who don't take kindly to those that don't follow the etiquette of who stands where and keeping quiet. They will tell you to be quiet if you talk during the music! And don't attempt to film or photograph the event on an iplad. The stewards have taken them off people in the past!

    Good luck!
