Squeaking handbrake

I've got a bit of a squeak on my handbrake when I release it. This only happens sometimes. It started maybe last week, then went away but came back once today. Any ideas? Its a 2012 Fiesta but I want to have an idea of the cause so the dealer can't palm me off.

If it just squeaks as you let it off, firstly I would not be concerned. Then in all likely hood it will be one of the pivots that the leaver is attached to that has got dry and needs a bit of grease. During a normal service I would expect it to be fixed for nothing extra.0
