Td direct or cavendish?

Looking at moving portfolio of oeics in isas and have narrowed it down to either td direct or cavendish, the former seemingly giving a bit more research and tools but the latter being cheaper. The one tool, that does look valuable is X-ray which I think td offer, and another main requirement is no transfer out charge given rdr2 on the horizon which riles out hl for a start.
Wondered if anyone had experience or thoughts on the relevant merits, thanks in advance.

I think it's £60 to transfer out of TD

I've had numerous issues with them since joining last year too, and not been very impressed with their customer service0 -
Cav have x ray but someone on here said you may have to use the mobile version to get some of the features.Edible geranium0

It's even more that - I guess it's £60 plus £25 or £30 for each line of stock...0 -
I use Cavendish and can't fault their service. Certainly cheapest around at moment.
X ray is useful but there are many other options out there for research and monitoring that can be used alongside Cavendish."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

If it's any use there's a charges calculator here that allows you to compare providers: http://www.rplan.co.uk/compare
Cavendish do seem to be cheaper, never used Cavendish though also found an article about provider exit fees that's an interesting read http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/diyinvesting/article-2309801/DIY-investors-hit-high-exit-fees-preventing-finding-better-deals.html#ixzz2QnuVb5v10 -

Thanks for that but there's an obvious rplan bias highlighted there.
The candid money site isn't perfect but is at least unbiased and shows rplan generally being far from the cheapest for those fund combinations I've modelled.
I've just opened a new account with Charles Stanley and all seems good so far, have decided to move current portfolio to cavendish, though slightly complicated that I'm currently on cofunds with chartwell direct/ close brow but the rebate isn't great and is till external so open to tax. Cavendish is funds network and in specie transfers, whilst at no costs, are currently running at a couple of months they estimate.0 -

I did three transfers into Cavendish earlier this year from the existing fund managers. One was a direct registration the other two were sale and buy in to new funds. All three took less than a month. I also transferred a couple of cash ISAs into funds with them again within a month.
I have rung them a couple of times on minor issues and they have been first rate at responding.
It will be interesting to see how they fair with the next round of RDR."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
