Because my PPI claim related to payments over 6 years old, they no longer have full records, but offered me a refund of traceable premiums totalling £80.55, on condition of signing an agreement not to pursue my claim further. After taking advice, I decided to accept.
They have since changed first to HFC then Beneficial Bank. Their documentation asked me to divulge my bank account and sort code details, so they could make a direct payment. I was not happy to send this to a PO Box address, so I requested a cheque payment, being happy to accept the extra delay waiting for the cheque to clear. I sent them the completed documentation, which advised me of a 28 day turnaround time, on 040413.
I chased this up on 070513, to be told that they sent my cheque by post on 020513. Still no cheque as of today.
Has anyone else had this sort of of experience? In the event of further delay, can I still take this up with the Ombudsman

If the cheque's already been sent out then it's up to Royal Mail to get it to you now, the Ombudsman can't do anything about that. If you think the cheque's been lost in the post ring them again and have them issue a new one out.0
