Why should someone only be able to reply to a specific email address - rather than create a new one ?
When a new email is created - it bounces !!
This is both Talk Talk emails !!!

So, when you open an email and select reply it goes through OK.

When you open a new email and type in the same address it bounces.

What message do you get on the bounced email?

Can you send from one email address to the other?

Sorry - I should have explained better
Both emails are Talk Talk - they can both send and receive emails to and from *most* other email addresses - but the one (not mine) can only get emails through to myself, when replying to an email sent by me - not when creating a new one !!

Reply is send a message back to the original sender.
...and so that should work fine to send a message in response to the originator.
Might be that if you try to 'reply' to another address it automatically bars you to prevent errors? i.e. mistakenly 'replying' to the wrong person?

What you seem to want to do is Forwarding that is when it is not actually a reply to the originating email address but to another address! Has that been tried? Instead of Replying click Forward and that should allow any address.
Apologies cannot advise where in Talk Talk mail the buttons are as I have not used it for years.....and I hope I understood the issue correctly!

This is using Outlook/Thunderbird - it bounces when the sender tries creating a new email but not when replying to an email that I have sent......

Is it simply a case of them having your email addy incorrectly typed into their address book?

When creating a new email, are they typing the address in full, or selecting it from stored contacts, or does it autofill from stored contacts when they start to type the address in?

If either of the last two they may have your email stored incorrectly in their contacts.
