If you are dead there is no "we will have"0 -
The problem is, if you both die, you have children.
Are both of your lives insured? Have you made wills, specifying a guardian? Or a guardian to raise the children and another trustee to look after their money?
I do understand your problem, and do see you could loosen the financial reigns a tiny bit (ie over your 30 quid a month) to show him that saving is worth is longer term.
But you have to disabuse him of the idea your money will not be needed after your death if you have children. If anything, they will need it MORE w/o you there.0
