Options
Hi, I have a few ££s now on my cash back MBNA CC - just not sure how to claim it. Do I just say I want to claim cash back when I come to pay at supermarket?
Thanks.

MBNA will pay it to you either annually or monthly.

You are confusing cashback that is offered when you pay at certain locations with a debit card.

No - the cashback is nothing to do with the merchants you choose to shop with. MBNA will keep adding up the cashback based on your expenditure and then once a year (your anniversary date) will credit it to your account. So after a year of accruing cashback you'll find a lump sum added to your account. It you have a balance at that point it will reduce the balance or if you have a zero balance you will be in credit which you can then spend.

Just a quick note... some cards actually have a set payout date for ALL members regardless of their anniversary. Some however, it genuinely is when they've had the card for a year. From memory MBNA pay on a set date but if you check your T&Cs you'll get confirmation for definite.

Mine is first working day in January, which isn't the anniversary.

Some cards have a minimum payout, e.g I think Barclaycard ex-Egg doesn't pay if you've clocked up less than a fiver. In that case, they'd have to give you the whole year.
