Fair enough.
The continuing payment was "passive" (I didn't write a cheque or send money each month, the firm simply collected the money from my card account). It's nice to get the magazines, but like I said, I have a life, and magazines are only a small part of it.
My original post on the subject was as much to alert others who may run into similar problems, as to explore ways of securing a refund for myself. I leave others to decide whether the effort is "worth it".
Latest update is that I have in fact had a reply from The Magazine Service advising that a refund is being processed and that they have cancelled my subscription CPA as I had requested. If that turns out to be the case, then the story will have a happy ending.....0
