First of all, I have just registered and am finding lots of useful information about money saving! So thanks everyone, as I have recently decided to be more careful in saving ect this site has been wonderful, So after saying hello and thanks now on to the main question..
I bank with Halifax and use the online banking service which I always though was great. Around 6 months ago I signed up for an online saving account, which has also been great, can transfer money instantly between the main bank account and the online savings account. 2 Months ago I registered for a Share Dealing Account too, and its been ok, somewhat confusing to use, but still ok as I have bought and sold shares without problem. After selling my shares 2 weeks ago and having £700 in the account(waiting 3 days for the trade to settle) it said I had: Funds available to invest: 700 Funds available to withdraw: 700, so still, everythings good.
I have just withdrawn 700 pounds to my main bank account though and when I log into my online bank account it still says: Money:30.00 Money available to withdraw:30.00. The money has not arrived
I do understand that maybe it will take 3 days, maybe even more as its Friday, but when I log into my share dealing account it says Money available to invest: 0.00 Money available to withdraw 0.00
So now waiting on the transfer there is no receipt anywhere of what I have just done... No email or withdraw receipt on any of the online accounts.. So should I be happy with halifax on this note? Where is the 700.00 now while im waiting on it? Lost in limbo? And as im the paranoid type when it comes to banking/online/anything in general (haha) What if the money never arrives? I dont have any receipt that I just transferred all this money bank to my main account and both online accounts are not showing that they are waiting on funds?? Please advise guys and sorry if im being silly here and missing something (but if I am you will probably get a laugh reading this :rotfl:
Nice to meet everyone and thanks in advanced for any replys

You'd probably have been best posting in the Savings and Investments section.
That said, the share dealing section of Halifax is not on the same account platform as your current account and savings account.
The funds have left your share dealing account. So that should reflect the withdrawal. This will show under <MY STATEMENTS> <CASH STATEMENTS>.
The same funds should reach your account by close of business on the next working day or earlier. So if they haven't arrived yet you won't be able to see the funds on screen.
Perfectly normal. Nothing to worry about.0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply, and so quickly. Ah right, well its good to know everything is ok and out my mind at rest, Really think Halifax should look into some sort of receipt, even an email to say I had just done it, incase the funds never do arrive... I was zooming around the share dealing account there and there isnt even anything saying withdraw: £700 or anything like that. But anyhow, Thanks again for the reply ( And sorry for posting in the wrong section )0

Hi opinions4u, I have just checked again this morning and still no money in my account... I have went to >My Statments< >Cash Statment< and it shows:
01 May 2013 Balance Brought Forward - 0.00 0.00
01 May 2013 Funds Transfer In - 100.00 100.00
02 May 2013 Funds Transfer In - 700.00 800.00
02 May 2013 Purchase 7 WESTERN UNION COMP COM STK USD0.01 83.07 - 716.93
02 May 2013 Purchase 30 MICROSOFT CORP COM USD0.00000625 656.12 - 60.81
02 May 2013 Purchase 4 WESTERN UNION COMP COM STK USD0.01 52.21 - 8.60
07 May 2013 Sale 11 WESTERN UNION COMP COM STK USD0.01 - 97.47 106.07
07 May 2013 Sale 30 MICROSOFT CORP COM USD0.00000625 - 626.32 732.39
But theres no evidence of me withdrawing the 700.00
and now instead of saying theres 700 available to invest or withdraw it is saying in my account:
Personal reference: ...........
Account code: .............
Account status: Okay to trade
Available to invest: £ 12.39
Dividend option: Hold In Account
It used to say available to invest 712.39
available to withdraw 712.39 then i withdrew the money, which never arrived and theres no receipt or evidence that i have withdrawn it??
Please let me know if this looks normal or if you think theres a banking error going on somewhere
thanks0 -

Maybe it's being held for "security" as it's the first time you've made a withdrawal?
i'd expect it to show up on Monday. I assume you've checked all the account numbers are correct?0 -
