Personally I think the OP has a point, Amazon should not use it as default card until card has been activated

Yeah i don't understand how the payment can go through on a card that's not been activated. What about the security of the card being sent to the wrong address?

my point was that I hadnt actually activated the card until last week! yes I know they do state terms but ( & I do admit I may have misread things) isnt it reasonable to assume your card will not be active until you activate it? I dont think they should start using it for some things but not others until it has been activated by the cardholder.
& i never had any emails about payment only some about how my application had been approved etc.

Please don't be offended by this question, but are you certain the card actually required activating?

Some cards come ready to use, did it specifically say 'call to activate' or did you just assume you needed to?

Some cards have a 'call to confirm receipt' sticker and not an activation one. Some don't have anything.

Not only did it have the go online to activate sticker but when I went to the website, I was asked a lot more security questions than many other cards!
Im glad Im not the only one who thinks the way Amazon works in this instance is wrong!:T
