Help - want MOT cheaper than £50

My car is due for an MOT next month and my local (dealer) garage has quoted the permitted maximum of £50.35

There must be loads of places offering a cheaper option.

As this is the 1st MOT and the car is low mileage / regularly serviced, I'm not expecting any problems.

Does anyone know of special offers or cheaper places? Anywhere in South Staffs / West Midlands or a national company will do.

Thanks very much.

have you read martins article here

if you have a council run mot test centre they are normally cheaper and as they dont fix the cars if it fails are more likely not to try and con you!!

Read Martin's article 1st - and the discussions on it.

No council run test centres anywhere close.
Unfortunately, the breakdown cover is via the manufacturer - so no reductions there.

But I have a Tesco clubcard and notice that it gives me 20% off MOTs at Nationwide.

If you've got a Kwik Fit near you, go on their web site. If you book your MOT on line it costs £44.95 (its gone up - last year it was only £34.95:mad: )

As it's the first MOT in 3 years - I'd expect to have something fail ...
