I went in December to Berlin, and the cheapest I found was with British Airways, but from Heathrow, not Gatwick. you will just have to shop around the different airlines and airports to see the best deal.

probably not too much help for you there, but BA came out cheper than EasyJet and all the others.

berlin can be limiting to get to, i have been twice, fiancee used to live there and frequently flew between here and there, the key is to plan and be prepared to be flexible if price is key.

manchester-berlin is lufthansa, not expensive but not direct.
liverpool-berlin is easyjet and its direct. we went on a coach to liverpool with terravision, cost only a few pounds each and was fine for what we needed.

its better to fly to tegel in order to get to the city easily, bus stops right outside and doesnt cost much to get into the city
Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?

Easyjet go Manchester to Schonfeld too. Can get express trains to the centre from Schonfeld, and only about EUR3.50 IIRC.

    Thanks folks.

    1) Do i need to check in online for both easy jet and ryanair?

    2) What is the advantage of this?

    Regards

Yes. Ryanair will charge you a fortune if you don't, not sure about Easyjet. You print off your boarding pass at home and can go straight though security and to the gate, no messing around checking in at the airport (I assume you're only taking cabin baggage as it's a very short trip).

We travelled to Germany by train this easter. Book 1 ticket through deutsche bahn which will cover your eurostar ticket too. Start from 49 euros.
