Viewing Issues with Vendors and Estate Agents

OH and I still on our house hunt, unfortunately! But getting very frustrated with trying to book in viewings!

For example, we’re booked to see several properties tomorrow afternoon. All organised 1 after the other. Get a phone call an hour ago from the EA stating the vendor can no longer 1.30pm make it due to having to go to work at 3. Had another yesterday, could we re-arrange the time please because they can’t make it? I say no, and they come back and say oh ok, we’ll leave it as it is then. And we’ve had numerous other issues!

Has anyone else had difficulties with EAs and Vendors needing to rearrange, especially at such short notice? Here I am, trying to give someone thousands of pounds for their house and they are making it difficult even looking at the property!

Are you sure it is the Vendors and not the agents messing you around as they have double booked? When we were selling we accepted all viewings no matter how inconvenient the timings were to us as we wanted to sell. (Although on some of the viewings, the prospective buyers never actually turned up, which is equally annoying!)

If it is the Vendors changing their minds, are they really serious about selling or just testing the market, would be my question to the agent.

We viewed a house twice that we were seriously interested in. The first time the vendors couldn't make it so we got the clueless mother-in-law. The second time we specifically asked for the vendors to be there and let them pick the day and time. We turn up and.... it's the clueless mother-in-law again. Apparently they had something come up.

I was not impressed, especially considering their house had been on the market for 1.5 years already...

really , the EA should have keys and viewings should be easy to set up , all depends on the efficiency of the EA and the willingness of the vendors though...for us we scoop the kids up and off we go!
