These stupid people keep calling.

This time I put on a voice like Neddy Seagoon and said I am not a consumer and I don't have a lifestyle.

Do you know if not hanging up keeps their phone line occupied?

I just had one as well, rather forcibly (and I'm not going to lie nor am I ashamed of the fact, rather profanely) told them to never bother me again today.

Fully expect another one next week.

We were getting one a day, between 7-8 each evening. Even being rude to them didn't stop them calling the next evening.

They drove me to distraction, in the end my husband played along with them, wasted a great deal of their time with nonsense and pretending to misunderstand them all the time.

Get 'caller display'. Usually these calls come through as 'withheld' so I never answer them.

If genuine call from someone you know then they can say who it is on your answer machine and you pick up knowing it's not time wasters.

You are guaranteed to get a call tomorrow as you told them not to bother you again, today.

No idea what the answer is, and no idea why the government don't make it illegal.

Because the calls are from a foreign country, and short of blocking international lines, there is very little they can do. Enough people must answer their questions to make their database of value and saleable to marketing companies. I just politely tell them I am not interested and won't answer their questions. I rarely get calls anymore from this bunch.
