Morning,
I've got a £9 off £60 and a £4.50 off £40 voucher from Sainsbobs. Am I correct in thinking that I can stack them if I do so in the correct order?
Never done a BM shop before- is there anything that I should know/watch out for? Thinking of getting some of the 24 packs of coke and a couple of the big Hellmans. Just looking for some other bits.
Any advice on BM shops gratefully received!
x
Hi everyone.
I wasn't in the know about stacking (but I can see that's already been answered) but I do know the items to get (or at least I will do once I've checked) - regarding the Coke - unless you desperately need cans - I'm just checking through this thread - I made a post overnight about A being £1.68 and T showing as 10p on MSM on one of the bottles - and just checking through to see if anyone's had any luck on that - if they have I wouldn't be buying any other size/type of Coca Cola if I were you...
The 24pk are normally quite expensive (not sure if they are on offer in T, or S, until I catch up with the changeovers - if on offer at £5 at T, the idea is to be doing a Svs T comp., if on offer at S at £5 then do as part of an Svs A - there's some offers ending today in S that go Svs A (N/A), as T are twice as expensive as S. Not sure about the Hellmann's, where that's cheaper etc.
When are the vouchers due to expire? If not immediately, I'd hang fire till I've sorted all this out for you - I'll look at Coke and Hellmann's and we want a £60 Sains spend shop on which the comparable items are £10 cheaper in one of A or T (not both) and on which the other items, all non-comparable, are cheapest and best value in S (a challenge as well, given the other price schemes). Do you need clothes, or things like cookeryware, etc?. Those may help to bump the amount up - whilst making sure you get the cheapest but best possible clothes that are less costly in Sains than anywhere else. You're looking at £20 of the £60 spend (branded groceries) to be £10 elsewhere - and need them to represent very good value at the elsewhere's price - and the other £40 to be made up of grocery fillers not avail. at the competitor that are best value bought in Sains. and/or non-grocery items, or batteries, best bought in Sains.
Leave me to read more on this thread, to see if the specific Coke Zero is comparing to 10p, and then I'll try and find some BM items, as well as going to do my own shopping, also preparing a shop Avs T if Coke glitching, and getting all that, then updating everything... I might just get there by Thursday night!!:D:D No, seriously, I'll have a look round (after I've caught up) starting with the Coke (if no glitch) and Hellmann's and then coming back about those - if your S vouchers aren't due to expire today, I'll hold fire so you don't waste use of them but make sure you have the best shop you can get (this will take a bit of time with price changeovers due any time but may be best to wait, just a few days, for me to get it sorted out!)
Any advice on BM I'm willing to give - if you're having to get an initial bill of £60, it's unlikely to be 'a few bits' to add to Hellmann's and Coke - at least if those are being got at very good value (although you could think £9 off is effectively paying for them even if they are full priced - buy two x 24 pack at £10 rather than £5 half price, you're losing £10 but gaining £9 if it makes the £60. Net loss: £1. It's better to buy at half price (or compare to half price) then have to spend £60 for the £9 off. Even with another £4.50, I'm sure we can do better - as that's little reward for overspending far more than you need to in the first place. Why not buy the £60 shop when every item in on special offer and then it's £30 i.e. better than the voucher discounts for spending that much)? As the max. BM is £10, it's unlikely to be a 'few bits' to add to Coke & Hellmann's if you're getting an initial £60 bill, unless you are losing money on the difference being £20, £30 or more, but only getting £10 BM, or if they are non-grocery items - but again they'd have to represent very good value (else you're overpaying there and they don't give any BM money).
Anyway, I can sort it all out and find the very good items - and make up a £60, with full £10 back, no overspend beyond that, and all the items not giving BM being very good value in Sains. and non-comparable - it'll take a short while... Better get cracking then!:D First, to find whether the Coke bottles are glitching elsewhere. I would never buy 24pk Coke/Diet Coke in Sains. at £10 (unless T was no more than £5).:)0 -

Imperial leather hydrate shower gel (500ml) is currently showing at 2.69 Mr T's, 1.34 Mr S
This has been on for a while.
I no longer consider £1.34 to be good value, although that may change with MOCs etc.
It's the half price lollies in Sains., many of them (those that aren't avail. in A) are £2.49 in T - although S's offer ending today, so may only be able to get in-store in S as price promise etc. schemes may go from the websites which are a day in advance.
S change of offers gives us some Tvs S items (and I've already had some of these stored in my saved lists on MSM, such as the lollies) - need to go and see if it's now gone the other way and preparing Svs T inevitably also identifies some Tvs S items. Svs T to wait till a little later though, as T's changeover now due.0 -

redfraggle wrote: »quick question - I was planning on doing a BM on the FB olive oil. However, deal is due to end EOP Tesco tomorrow. Is it safe to do or is there a chance MSM will have changed?
Thanks!
Nothing to do with MSM. S's BM is taken from t.com. Was this on t.com at the offer price this morning? If so, it should be safe, as the 'scan' for the BM is only done once a day. It's done at the same time each day, sometime in the morning (exact time not known), and isn't updated later in the day. So the fact the offer is ending tomorrow shouldn't affect it - it is the price at t.com this morning that is relevant. (If you have been able to though, take a screenshot of the item today on t.com, showing the item and its offer price, just in case in the unlikely event the BM doesn't pick it up for whatever reason).0 -
Savvy, you are such a darling!
I really don't expect you to spend a load of time looking at this for me!
Yes, I would do a SvT shop as the cokes are £5 at T ( S are £10) and the Hellmans is £1.79 (S are £3.59). Was planning on 1x coke and 2x Hellmans but now I think it is more sensible to just do 2x coke and get the Hellmans in Sada and get the extra 10% as well.
Trouble is, that is a maximum BM and still another £40 to spend. Not sure that I need £40 worth of anything!
I do want the cans as will keep them for days out. There are 8 of us so never buy drinks when out and a can of coke is a nice treat for a day out as we don't drink it at home.
I wonder what Sainsbobs are like at taking back ill fitting clothing when you have used a CS voucher?!
Anyway Savvy, thank you for your help but please don't spend lots of time on this. I will keep looking and thinking. Voucher expires 23rd so I have time and may even decide not to bother given the spend required!
x
Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x
EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!0
