I would never turn down a bargain. ;)

I must have missed that aswell - I would have said yes as I do need a new one (there's a bt of metal poking up through the top of mine, it's only small but I have to avoid gliding over it IYKWIM - bit awkward as it's in the middle of the board)

Haven't said hi to any of you for a while, RL been a bit hectic. Last time I posted it was for advice on a cake stall I had to run for charity. Well if anyone remembers me asking for different things to make, I did make the maltesers biscuit cake and I made mars bar rice krispie cake. I also made some cake pops, which I thought I would share as I was especially proud of them.

Co-worker said the other day, aren't I a bit old to learn to drive and I am only just 34, have had lessons years ago, always talked about doing it, then OH buys me the theory test with only 11 days to practice. I am determined to pass it as I don't want to have to pay for it..:rotfl:

    1. Lovely cakes - I think if you can manage it timewise you should definitely take up the offer of selling them, who knows where it might lead

    2. My mum was 50 when she learned to drive, so at 34 you are a mere youngster ;)

    3. Good luck - hope you pass! Fingers crossed :)

Still here, didn't get to bed as watching Sky News and the storms in Mid West USA

As most of you know I am staying at my sister's house while she and her hubbie are on their annual 3 weeks holiday to America. They flew into Forth Worth, Texas, and visited Memphis Music Festival before renting a cabin by a lake in Tennessee for a week, then stayed in one of the 'shacks' from cotton picking times, before travelling over the Newcastle, Oklahoma to visit friends they made over there for a week before driving back to Texas for their flight home Thursday

Where they stay is on the outskirts of Oklahoma City, to the South. The current tornados hitting Mid-West have been touching down around Oklahoma City. Shawnee town to the East of OK City was devastated on Saturday evening, and further tornadoes last night. Now I see they are hitting the same area again tonight

I emailed my Sis on Sunday and got this message back:

Yup we were in that tornado watch and thought it would hit here at one point. We were having a fish fry party and when the warnings came on the radio everyone had to dash home for safety. Got a lot of hail damage. it kept on for ages. Had to get on the phone to Alamo and tell them the car has loads of dents in it. Can't believe the damage it's done.

Bad weather forecast for tonight again so keep an eye out.

Having a great time tho. Once the storm passed everyone came back and it was party time again.

Watched the news and saw all the damage at Shawnee. When you're in it you realise how scary it all is.

Then, today, I got a text message from her:

Massive tornado gone through here today but we're all safe in case u see on news

Just watching TV right now though and a tornado over one mile mile wide, could have been up to 2 miles and winds of up to 200 miles per hour, hit around Oklahoma City. They say this is the worst tornado to hit the area for a very long time. I have just checked on google maps and the place decimated tonight is about 3 or 4 miles from where my Sis is  So will be waiting for word from her again tomorrow/later today:(

Must be very frightening for them, hope they are all ok and you get word from them soon x

Feel like I have been missing out lately as have barely even had time to lurk, have not joined in..apart from pizzas and I have wanted to post so many times to share and say hi, but kids, starting a part time evening job and now doing my driving theory on Fri..too much going on. Co-worker said the other day, aren't I a bit old to learn to drive and I am only just 34, have had lessons years ago, always talked about doing it, then OH buys me the theory test with only 11 days to practice. I hope everyone is well, have I missed anything important? I did catch the veet reviews earlier, very funny..:)

I was 39 when I started learning to drive and it took me 2 years. I was such a nervous driver but passed my test first time :D. I am not quite so nervous now and trying to get myself to drive further all the time. From someone who hates driving, lol, do it! It will give you such independence. The theory for me was easy, just keep going over the theory cd and hazard perception video.

People who say inconsiderate comments like that are usually jealous and lacking in confidence about themselves.

I did a conplete life u-turn in my 30s, went back to uni everything.
    Good luck x

    Good morning everyone :)

Lovely popcakes Nictrinwyn, hope you can make them to sell, but remember to cost your time at a realistic rate. (not mates rates!)

Can anyone confirm if the Dr O pizzas are still £1.29 in Mozzys and which are comparing for an APG.
I've read back but haven't seen anything about it recently. TIA :)

Sorry, don't know the price in Morrisons, but they're not on offer at any of the other 3 supermarkets. Maybe hold onto your vouchers (if that's what you're using?) Possibly cheaper in A's soon.

Have a good day one and all.

Pizzas were £2.20 in morribobs last night. Darn, never even looked at the price of them when I got them, school boy error!

    Good morning everyone.

I have no more painting to do :D:D:D

Bit dull here, but going to put a wash load out anyway.
