before my time  but I will ask my OH.....tomorrow, because he retires early. He has a rather wide knowledge on nautical matters from days gone by. Something to do with his father being on a ship during the war ( it must've been an Italian ship ) and the fact he spent a * very short * spell on a fishing boat after leaving school and before joining up. Unfortunately he suffered sea sickness, so it wasn't the career for him :o.....he likes boats, but he's not having one :D:rotfl::rotfl:

I think a got it wrong about seafaring stuff although it sounds plausible to me. Did a search and came up with this, which musically might not be to everyones tastes but gives one explanation:

And of course it is that magic week when the redundancy notices come out!

We are hoping that we won't be losing any staff, other than those who are moving to new posts elsewhere.

Stubby where are you  :(

Evening Dotty and Night Shift. :)

Been taking a few trips down memory lane. Been MIA as took DD1 round mum's yesterday to chose a few kitchen bits for her impending move. Seems like I have inherited a Poole Pottery Tea Service. :)

Today have been claiming back my lounge from the Stubsters, still had not given it a proper spring clean since coming back from mum's. Someone had thrown my mother's day flowers away and not even bothered to wash my crystal vases out.

Lounge now full again though as only clear place to start collecting DD1s stuff together. :o

Had another trip down memory lane tonight got OH to get down all my kitchen stash to sort through to find a few more bits out for her. Can't believe how much I have stored away, it is now nicely packed in my empty M & S wine boxes and a see through plastic storage box. But think I need to make an inventory. :o

Was nice to remember how much I paid for everything, steak knives 40p, think the irons were 4p and 8p casseroles, £4.90 ish Kenwood Tri Blade has a £47.95 sticker on the box. :D

Anyway have had a skim read back and seems I chose a good time to be MIA. :(

We are down to our last gold tin of fabulous fingers.

It might be my imagination but I think they might be going a bit soft.
That could be because they are out of date:o

OMG I think I have a couple left at a bottom of a pile of Just to say Thorntons.

Perhaps I should send DD1 off with a tin, she did mumble something about not having a biscuit tin. :rotfl:
