There's one Blue topic that Microsoft is not talking about yet: Pricing and licensing. As Windows 8 user Dave Lorde asked in a comment on Reller's Q&A: "Does this mean current Windows 8 users get a 'Windows Blue' service pack?"
Microsoft doesn't have an answer yet, at least not a public one. A company spokesman on Thursday declined to comment on pricing or licensing.
It seems borderline unconscionable that Microsoft might charge early Windows 8 customers to upgrade to Blue, particularly as the latter gets framed as a fix for the former's shortcomings. Referring to Windows 8, Reller recently told The Wall Street Journal: "We didn't get everything we dreamed of done." So why not come right out and say Blue will be delivered to Windows 8 buyers as a free upgrade? Aside from the risk of jilting early adopters, why would anyone pony up for a new Windows 8 device until the Blue picture comes into sharper focus?
This doesn't mean Microsoft won't offer Blue as a free service pack-style upgrade to Windows 8 customers. But it has yet to come out and say so, even as the Blue bandwagon's engines start to rev. "I would not be surprised to see them offer an upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows Blue for free," Forrester senior analyst David Johnson said in an interview. An upgrade for "little or nothing" gives Microsoft a chance to make amends with dissatisfied Windows 8 buyers, Johnson noted.0 -

She had a scan and the current diagnosis is cerebral infarction (a form of stroke). Serious enough, 30% die from it but many others go on to make a good recovery. Currently I think we're sticking to plan A ie my wife flies back Friday but a lot depends on what her bro says to her after he visits MIL this afternoon. My young nephew (20) is visiting first and I just hope he is level headed in what he says to my wife, I can easily imagine him being a bit shocked at seeing his grandmother suffering with the stroke.

No fee for Windows Blue update: Analysts
Microsoft is in a difficult balancing act on whether to charge users for Windows Blue or to give away controversial update for free, according to analysts
Microsoft Corp. will likely not charge Windows 8 users for the operating system's upgrade codenamed “Blue,” according to technology industry analysts.
Windows Blue is not only the codename for the update, it is also the term for Microsoft’s adoption of a faster release schedule that would see annual changes to Windows.
Microsoft has yet to issue a formal statement concerning the any payment model for the operating system also known as Windows build 9364. However, several analysts believed the software company will be irking a lot of customers if it would charge them now to upgrade to Blue.
Windows Blue is more like a “service pack-plus-feature pack,” according to Brett Waldman of analyst firm IDC. He finds it hard to believe that Microsoft would try charge users for Windows Blue.
Many users will likely be upset if they were made to pay for the first update to Windows 8, according to Michael Cherry of independent research and analyst organizations Directions on Microsoft. He said the general sentiment would be that any changes or new features released this early should have been included in the OS in the first place.
The situation is a difficult balancing act for Microsoft which is adopting an annual update release for its products, according to Michael Silver of Gartner Inc.
On one hand, Microsoft faces possible customer ire if they should charge for an update this early. However, Silver said. Microsoft would not want to set a precedent by giving away Blue for free.
However, he said, at least this one time, users might not have to pay for the Blue update.0 -

Page 120 of the new Tesco magazine for May and June - not sur sof anyone has done a sheet for them???. that would be so useful.
Now everyone is going to Tesco I am wondering as well about going.
I am thinking Toms/pasta and Maggi but what else?
The £1 washing liquids look good but I've got a lifetime supply already - quite tempted though.
my store has not had much stock of the cheap baby bath but I got Another 6 on Sunday - not on 342 though. Doubt wether they will have more in.
What else is there though I should look for - never any 1p or 4p things in my store and no customer scanners either so that does not help. Might be worthwhile just walking up and down the aisles to see if I can see anything on clip strips.
I had a look at my tesco mailing to come on line last night and a few good MOcs and points vouchers so I am thinking if I hang back from dpijg the big shop and hope the mailing comes this week I can also use the conditional spend MOC and double points“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
