Just skip these posts, they're not relevant. Only the Dettol Handwash is.

Thanks Savvy, aaaaak! hoping that my post didn't come across the wrong way. It's great having you and your skills analysing all the deals and apg's. Please don't hesitate in giving me a face-slap if I've gone over the line, I do appreciate all the hard work you put in.

    Good evening, :)

Don't know if any of you have noticed this instore? I did try and search for this but it just bought up a load of bingo and casino sites.

It sounds fun ... but it is another way for T to extract more out of us than we would otherwise spend (in return for something of probably lower value than we could purchase it for if we ignore PP bingo).

It'll work though. Wonder how many people are shopping at T in the hope they will get a PP of the chosen amount. ("Hope" being the key word for most people, as they won't have carefully worked it out like we do.)

The problem for me on all of this... is also that it seems to be in some stores only - I'm not aware of my local stores operating it - and, rather than the amount being a national single amount, publicised on T's website for instance, so that I could then work out a basket online to get that amount, it's instore, meaning that, if you don't already shop there regularly, you perhaps would have to make a special journey to find out the amount and then another trip back, after you've gone away and worked it out.

Very fun scheme though - and it is very clever and it will work (in the 'marketing mix' that T have chosen). They do do very detailed consumer psychology research, all the supermarket chains, and they know what works on most people/on their 'target market' audience/probably on us too!

(Of course the manager, simply by chance, is just as likely to pick an amount below £5 as an amount above it. If they happen to choose a smaller amount, it also means that T avoids giving us a full £10 PP back if we take part in the 'game'. It may be better for us if we get the bigger PP back and ignore the bingo scheme if it gives rewards that are far less than we can get by using other tactics. Strategic pricing by stores calls for tactical/strategic buying/non-buying by us!)

[Ah - the one in your picture is where we get a 'saving' rather than a PP amount. Total up your whoopsie spends carefully folks! Since whoops are almost random, how could anyone really get down, in the moment, and work it all carefully out???...]

I was in this poverty trap elliemoo and agreed it tastes horrendous - we had no designer shoes etc - we had ones with holes in them alright:D My mum had a very clear vision for us all and she made sure that we all went through third level education. Those were the days when impoverished children had their fees paid and a nice grant to see us through college. The government's investment in us was well and truly(Trulymadly;)) paid back in the form of top rate tax.....and so it should be. I wonder if children living in those circumstances nowadays get the same or have they not even this option open to them to get them out of the trap? Discuss as Squills would say!!!

I totally agree, education is the way forward but access is not as manageable as in our day. I grew up in a family of 5 with very little money, we used to get the free EEC meat in tins and butter but my parents recognised that to get out of the trap education was the key. I was lucky to have a full grant and my university of choice and have been paying my investment back to the government ever since. It is not as straightforward nowadays.

They do but some staff see to make it their life's work not to, next time ask to speak to a manager.

I was overcharged last week and when they didn't offer the card I asked and she snapped at me 'I was just getting it'. Of course she was which was why she ahd given me my refund receipt, said goodbye and started to move on to next customer.

Thanks - is it on their website, do you know? I can't find anything that refers to it.

I'm going back in tomorrow, so will ask to speak to the manager then.

Most of the "prizes" are complete carp tho! Talc, soap and rubbish, with the odd bottle of wine or chocs. Prize would appear to be at the manager's discretion so they'd just give you one of the rubbish ones, I bet. There's probably some gaming law they're breaking by not clearly stating what the prize is, I would think.

Thankfully although I rent the changes in benefit don't affect me but I know plenty of people that are being impacted on.

The notion of having to take in a lodger would be an impossibility. My mum used to have a lodger, quiet guy, my age. then he told her he loved her. We asked (told) him to move out. Mum was then stalked by him for a year phone calls at all hours, visits, visitation watching her house from the road. After making a year of her life a misery and a warning from the police he broke in while she was out and killed himself in her home. This was five years ago and she's never really got over it - well how can you?!

Sorry all bit heavy for Sunday eve

Can I introduce Rex? He's our dog. This is him when he was a pup. Something nice to cheer up the dull weather we are having. I do happen to hire him out. When we go on holidays. :D
