http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=456732&in_page_id=1770

"Families heading for Spain this summer face long airport delays because of a new security regime.
The Spanish system, which comes into effect in three weeks, will require every one of millions of travellers to provide detailed personal information before they fly."

Mind you they are asking for some really tricky information that some people may not know:

Full name, nationality, date of birth, and passport number.

Having said that,I find you very often see people queueing at check-in for about half an hour and when they finally get to the desk, there then starts a frantic search for there booking number, passport, etc.

What the hell do they think they were queueing up in the first place for?

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

The express would have tied it in with the tragic demise of Princess Diana.
The Star would need to mention how Big Brother would be affected by this and of course the Sun would need to remind us that it was connected with the search for

To be serious for a minute, it only refers to people from non Schengen agreement countries. (we don't belong, for good reasons IMHO)

Does anyone know if it applies to ferry passengers into Bilbao or Santander?

...can we merge these scare-mongering threads and let them die a death!

As posted on the aforementioned thread, this is the responsibility of the airlines - not individual passengers.

Then of course, there are those who manage to get to the airport on time, check in on time but are totally incapable of making it to the aeroplane door on time !

It may be worth adding that when I went to Alicante last month there was absolutely no one at the immigration desks at the airport - as usual !!

that dreadful mother said "i will travel across Europe to search for my daugher". Hmmm, last i heard she was in Africa.....

At the thought of being completley slated, the Express printed a picture opf Sara Payne sat in her front room when her daughter was taken. It was a bit tatty. Anyway a more recent picture of the said front room shows a brand new leather sofa, choice decor and a manicure.
