Times and Sunday Times subscriptions cold calls - complaint?

Hi all - does anyone know where to complain to when you're cold-called? I just had a rude chap who said he was calling from the Times/Sunday Times, but given it was a private number I can't ask to speak to his supervisor.

I know telemarketers have a tough job, but it's not on to call someone you don't know, when neither of you want to talk to each other. And, I know, I know, next time I will ignore calls from a private number!

Send a letter through to the times telling them that someone claiming to be calling on their behalf (I presume trying to sell a subscription?) was rude etc and reminding them that such things damage their brand and don't help sales. They have probably outsourced this work so it won't have been an employee on the phone, but if they get complaints from the public about the company who is doing the work for them then may re-think their contract!

Hi Guys, I was lured into taking out a subscription with The Times with the offer of a NEXUS 7 for £50.00. phoned them up paid my 50 quid and a months subscription up front - great subscribed immediately Nexus to be delivered about Friday 10th. Midweek I couldnt log into my account so Saturday phoned them they didnt know what had happened but got me logged in I mentioned that the Nexus hadnt arrived but was told to phone the providers who wouldnt be open till monday, I wait, I phone the Nexus had not been ordered they put me back through to The Times but I couldnt speak to anyone other than customer services who couldn't help (what type of customer service is that) I had to wait to speak to News International eventually about 13.00 i asked to cancel the subscription and be refunded the £67.00 i had shelled out. The guy phoned me back bout 14.30 saying I had been refunded no explanation nothing, of course I only have his word for this (for what its worth) as its not in my bank yet and I have nothing in writing. So be warned after reading The Times for 30 years this is the treatment I get, they have had my money since the 30th April and no explanation as to why they cannot provide the goods although if it is any consolation I am told that I am not the only one. Will I be reading The Times in the future - I think not.
