Hotwire - Good or Bad?

I'm looking to book a hotel in Orlando and Hotwire have some really good prices BUT you don't know exactly what accommodation you're booking until you have actually booked. They only tell you the star rating and the location.

Has anyone used them before and if so was it a good or bad way to get accommodation?

I have used it and gotten FANTASTIC accommodation in FANTASTIC locations. I am American, now living in the US and have used it numberous times...never disappointed.

One thing...the rooms are non-refundable, so make sure you choose your criteria (neighbourhood, star rating, etc) wisely, and read any reviews of the property they have posted. One thing, hotels in the USA always have a bathroom in the room.

I always chose higher star ratings (which worked for me) and ended up in high-end chains (which I don't mind).

    I would HIGHLY recommend Hotwire.

Brilliant, just be careful if you're picky about adjoining rooms etc, nothing is guaranteed

Consider using Priceline as well as or instead of Hotwire
