iPad video - opening when sent to Windows PC

I recently used my iPad to video an important family event and then attached it to an email to my daughter. She has received it but cannot open the video. Presumably can't handle the format. What does she need to do? Sorry this is a basic question, but I've not come across the problem previously.

watching a video recorded on an ipad is most likely encoded using the icod (apple proprietary) format.
She could try an application like VLC which will play most video files (but even that struggles with icod format videos). Alternately she could try re-encoding it into a different "friendly" format such as avi using a free program such as handbrake.
hope this helps0 -
Or just download Quicktime, the apple video player, which opens ipad video files perfectly.0
