watching dvds on android tablet

Hi Guys,

I am trying to store movies onto my Acer a200 tablet which runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich

I've used Handbrake to convert it to MP4 but the tablet won't play it. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Also, re BBC iplayer downloads, are they only compatible with specific brands of tablets? I want to watch off-line.

Cheers,

Mary

Its possible you encoded it incorrectly, some combinations are not understood by some player software, but in the 1st instance I would try a different player.

I recommend this one (MX Player) free from Play store, it is very tolerant and a great player, never failed me on many devices and video formats.

When installed and first run, it may ask you to also download a codec pack, this is normal if it finds they are not already present on your device.

Make sure you're using the latest version of Handbrake and select to encode for android device (normally m4v). For playback I use VLC which is free.

    hope this helps

I run mine through DVDFab (for decode) and then Handbrake for my Blackberry Playbook, works every time. As above, playback via VLC.

Edit: Without the decode, results were all fuzzy like a bad TV reception? Is this what you are getting?
