Complaint after switch

Could anyone offer advice?
After coming to the end of my dual fuel deal with British gas, I dropped into the online energy tariff. Despite this, over the last 6 months my bill has increased by 50%. So I looked for a switch.
All good, knew when I started the process that I was £100 in arrears (I pay monthly and have my bill adjusted accordingly).
Switch goes thorough, give my meter reading and get a final bill on the app on my phone of £305!!!
I rang up, double checked the meter readings, and that was correct. Fair dos, when is this payment coming out I asked? The operator told me that I would get a statement through the post.
Imagine my horror today when I receive an email saying they have done my final statement and I owe £398!! How can that be my last statement when I called to check?
I'm going to ring them up when they open but can anyone advise of whom I complain to if this does not get resolved?

£305 bill + £100 arrears = final statement? Highly recommend submitting regular readings (monthly at least) and keep an eye on what you're spending. A colleague of mine has just been shocked by a £900 bill.0

I do, this is why I am so shocked! In November I was £15 in credit, February was the £100 in arrears and from February to the end of April (1 month of it being a switch period I have ended up with another £300!!
This is after upping my payment and decreasing my usage! (I've checked it compared to previous bills!
I am cross because they told me at the end of April what my final payment was and now they have changed it!0 -
The final read maybe due to your new supplier submitting a higher read, do check thisDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I've double checked all the readings, they are correct, I still have the readings written down from when I did them.
I have spoken to British gas who have informed me that the final bill I was given was for gas only, and not electric.
They have admitted that it is on the system that I was given a lower amount as a final total, and they have told me that someone will investigate and call me. I wait with baited breath!!
They also can't tell me when payment will be taken!0 -

If you have the meter readings, then you should be able to work out the cost of your consumption ... or at least confirm the cost they have billed you.
Under the terms of the DD scheme, they will have to advise you at least 14 days in advance (plus postage time) of taking any money via DD.0
