Why don't you want it up? I think you'd need a vaild reason then just ' I dont want it' to fight it.
People don't know what they want until you show them.

Last time Dad was in hospital, his ward had a board up with staff photos, their names and job description on it. His care home also has a board in the entrance hall.

If you work somewhere and are physically present, why would you object to your picture being put on a board?

Where I used to work we had to have photos and name badges, but you could choose what name you wanted. I mean you had to use some variation on your real name, but you could just be "Mr Clarke" or use your middle name and surname. It was quite a rough area and a couple of the people working there had very unusual names so the bosses were fine about that. All the rest of the staff knew what names people used. I have had weird male customers come up to me and say "I've googled your name" or "I looked you up on 192" so I understand your concerns.

Because you are not in control of, or are aware of, who is obtaining information about you, or for what reasons. If someone asks you for your name, you are in control of the information they are receiving.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Everyone on a ward will wear a name badge, so your name would be available to anyone that needs it.

You should be compelled to wear an id badge, why do the wish to go beyond that?

My workplace wants staff to have their photos displayed. i do not want to do this. Is there any way i can argue against this?

Depends on what photos they mean.

I might have photos of my-self on holiday on a naturist/nudist beach but i would not display them at work.:D

In which case there is no need to put it on the wall.

If you work with members of the public, your face is on show all the time. Having a photo on the wall is nothing.

It is - because it will be there when you are not.
