Not sure if its this section or digital tv section but im just after some help.
Currently a tenant in a flat, got sky tv in the front room no problem however in the bedroom id like to watch tv but there is no aerial port or anything in the room. Im not exactly asking to watch sky but the tv has freeview built in so is there anyway this can work?
I understand there are indoor aerials on the market but i get bad coverage in my area at times. Anybody got any recommendations?
Thank you.

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

Does the main wall socket (in the front room) not have a couple of spare 'normal' co-ax TV/FM ports? They should carry a Freeview signal without needing multi-room subscription.0

Hi,
that other cable is maybe for the old tv aerial, have a look on roof, is so you might be able to use a freeview box.
Or, you could use an AV Sender, example here, if you 'google' or try ebay should get one cheaper.0 -
Before I had a proper aerial cable installed I used an indoor aerial similar to this for my freeview telly

Freeview worked fine for me upstairs but was absolutely rubbish downstairs.
Look at the direction that your neighbours TV aerials are pointing and that will tell you which direction your nearest transmitter is located.
I think the aerial worked well for me upstairs because it only had one outside wall to 'travel' through where as the TV downstairs was at the back of the house so the signal had to travel through lots of walls.
Note that it was all before the BIG digital switchover so things may now have changed with regards to aerial signals but I am sure someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong.0 -
Have you tried plugging your freeview TV into the spare socket? Best to try this first before you do anything else, plug it in and try tuning it in.
Another alternative is a Magic Eye, but that means running a cable between the Sky box and your other TV,What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Simply ask your landlord if you can install a coax extension into the bedroom, offer to pay the fitting cost.
The land lord may even pay it, if you ask nicely.0 -
How neat do you need things to be?
Cheapest option, assuming that aerial socket works which is always worth checking before spending money on rented places, is to just run a long cable from there into the bedroom, pushed into the little gap where the carpet meets the skirting boards. When you move out you can just pull the cable leaving no marks or damage.
Done that plenty of times when renting crappy places. Usually with network cables though. It works best if you don't have to cross doorways, which may involve taking a longer route.0 -
may as well try an indoor aerial and see, power is better since switchover. Or you could use a laptop, iplayer etc.!!

You could run a cable from the RF out 2 on the back of the Sky box. If you also get a TV link you would be able to control the box as well.0
