I have looked on the florida thread but could not find the answer.

Is it possible to hire a car in orlando for about a week without a credit card?

Everywhere i have seen they seem to need a card.

Unlikely that you will find a car hire company who don't want a credit card. If you do then I'm sure they will want a large cash bond from you incase of damage or if you don't return the car

i think all places ask for it so that they can charge you automatically if anything happens to the car......... the only place i can suggest trying is http://www.rentawreck.com/ - they don't do online booking for orlando but you could try contacting them.

I've hired a car in Orlando from Budget in the past without a credit card. They only wanted a cash deposit of either $100 or £100, it wasn't a problem at all. It's best to check with them first though as it might have changed now.

I've only ever booked thro a travel agent,usually 'Dollar', paid upfront and never had to produce a credit card or pay a cash deposit.
