Remembered another. "All around the Wrekin" if a journey took a long time. That must be a local one!

Its not really a saying, but my mum used to make up names for things, and renamed thighs as "wampers". She just liked the sound of it I guess, however _I_ thought that's what they were called, and got teased so much when i said it at school!

An aunty of mine used to warn of chin cough if you didn't wrap up, and a great granddad used to call people ta-tas I think it means a bit soft or wussy.
No one I know has ever heard of either, my dad uses ta-tas occasionally though too.

What do you think it is, gift day? If we asked for anything, my dad especially loved used this on xmas and birthdays.

My dad would say "Taradiddle" if he felt he was being lied to.

Going shopping with my mother was "going tats"

Crisps were "slurps" I have no idea why. Absolutely no idea.

not to mention "think of the starving children in (name poor country of choice) they would eat that like a shot" (usually followed by one of us saying "send it to them then" - and then sent to bed!)

    "life's not fair"

My mum would shout if waiting for us "i'm standing here like piffy" I have no idea what that meant, also if we showed her something silly we could do she would say that'll get you a job in woolworths!!!!!!

    "Piffy on a rock bun"

Haha, these are funny :) In our house we had

'stop champing at the bit' - getting impatient

'well I'll go to the foot of our stairs' - I've no idea what that meant either, why would you do that?

'if the wind changes you'll stay like that' - face pulling

'not got a pot to p1ss in' - poor

'charm the hind legs off a donkey' - smooth talker

many more, can't think of them all

    Remember these:

''Put the board in the hole'' - Shut the door
''If you carry on, you'll be up the wooden aisle'' - Stairs to bed.

Also, ''Could eat a scabby donkey between two bread vans'' - Im really hungry.

"Half past the back of my neck and a quarter round your waist" if anyone asked the time.

"I'll tan your backside" if we were playing up, though a gentler man than my father you'd never meet!
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me..
