I hope someone can help me.
I have been to an apple store & they had no idea
A few months ago I had my screen replaced as I had cracked it & when I collected my phone back, all the photos on my camera roll were gone. I know the guy & he said nothing had been deleted or changed, just the screen so couldn't figure out why it was saying 0 photos. Everything else was still on the phone.
I was gutted - I lost my mum last year sadly & had some precious photos of our last holiday on there.
I now have 325 pictures on my phone & it says my memory is full - if I go to account settings and view usage it says my photos take up 7gb! Which isn't possible from the amount in my camera roll. So they must be somewhere but I've looked all over the phone & can't find them
Please no lecture on backing my phone up - that's another story!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

A friend recently had the same problem with their pics disappearing after an iOs update went a bit screwy (probably because her memory was full as well).
After wasting an hour of my life with iTunes and getting nowhere fast, I ended up using a program called iPhone Magic Platinum which enabled me to access her phone just like you would an external hard drive and copy the lot (including text messages, contacts, apps, etc) to a PC.
Once everything was backed up, a full reset fixed the phone.
It seemed to take forever to recover all of her data, but it recovered the lot nonetheless and enabled a backup to be made (which she also hadn't done) before the phone was reset.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
If you plug the iPhone into a windows machine does it not come up as a removable device under windows explorer? I can't remember as I dont have a windows PC to hand. If it does you may be able to navigate to the DCIM folder and find your pics, perhaps they have been renamed.
I recently recovered some files from a SD card using foremost on linux and it worked quite well. You used to be able to connect an iPhone device to a linux machine and read its contents just like a USB stick and browse all the music and photos etc. Im not sure with the newer iOS devices though. I just tried my wife's iPhone4 and its not auto-mounting on my laptop which runs a rather old 10.04 version of Ubuntu.
You might want to give it a try though, you never know it might work for you, some more info on ios devices and linux here:

When i plug my iphone into my mac and open iphoto it instantly loads up a page showing all the photos on the device and gives me the option to import them... If you have a mac try that.
If not, and you use windows to sync your phone, have you tried doing something similar in a windows photo organising program (apologies for being vague but i have no idea what there is available!). I used to use Picasa back in the day, but when i recently tried to install it on my parent's windows 8 PC it was talking about needing to pay for it or something...?0
